It’s official.! TikTok is banned in India joining the list of other 59 Chinese applications because of privacy and security concerns.
Some of these apps which got banned generated major revenue from India for china because of the higher population and higher user generation. All these might end now with a dominant loss for each Chinese companies. I read in a few articles that India banned all these Chinese applications because of the issue happening in India-China Border. This might not be true, but more than 1.5 billion users generating money for china and if they gonna start a war against you what will you do. So India might use this opportunity to stop the Chinese govt from any further actions because obviously this will let down their revenue. So Dear Indian TikTok users, there might be a chance for UnBan.
In earlier 2018, there was a trade war between the US and China in which Broadcom tried to acquire Qualcomm for 121 billion dollars and Donald Trump kept denying the offer because of the national security concerns. In India, Tik Tok has more than 1.3 billion users which the Indian government has seen as a huge privacy concern. They should have thought this before because it's like selling certain percent of entire Indian data to China. Now at least they thought through this and took a decision. Good job.
What TikTokers gonna do after this Ban?
1. Indian Techies and Startups can use this opportunity to build a similar app or market the app which is already half-way through. When India started this initiative "MakeInIndia", many startups have boomed in various industries. Now Make in India can help Entertainment industry to find potential startups and applications. So TikTokers will move to Indian made entertainment applications.
2. Some might stop using it. Just Uninstall it. Maybe forget it. I'm using TikTok for almost a year now. I rarely upload anything. But I use TikTok to see what other celebrities are doing and posting in TikTok. I follow particular people on Instagram and when they post in Tiktok I watch their videos every day. If you see, almost 40% of TikTok users never upload or rarely upload, they use the app to see what his/her followers or favorites doing. So most of them probably gonna uninstall it and start following on Instagram like earlier.
3. When Famous platform "Vine" collapsed, all the viners moved to YouTube and started producing the content where they migrated their vine fans to YouTube. I loved vine and viners even they moved to youtube. But in India, Even after all those dramas happened for TikTok vs YouTube, the "so-called" TikTok influencers have to end up on YouTube. It's your time Carry(Haha). Be ready to see them.
4. What happened when India banned the porn sites?. Ha Ha. Do you get it?. Yes, Some guy is definitely going to find a way either by cracking code or Adding VPN, and still, people who are crazy about TikTok will find a way to use the application. Because they don't want to lose their gained followers.
See, If you have really gained followers organically by your content, you can do the same thing in other Indian applications and if you have stuff people want to see, you will gain those followers back. So, Good luck.!
